Sunday, May 7    9-11am
Artist Welcome Breakfast, Registration, Stamping and Orientation: The 15th Annual Wayne Art Center Plein Air Festival kicks off as 32 accepted artists arrive at Berkley Farm in Wayne (725 Brooke Road Wayne, PA 19087) to have your canvases, panels and sheets stamped and officially become part of the festival during this high-energy event.

Sunday, May 7–Friday, May 12
15th Annual Wayne Art Center Plein Air Festival: Artists paint within 35 miles of Wayne.

Sunday, May 7- Wednesday May 10
Community Paint Out: Community artists are also invited to paint en plein air throughout Wayne. Works will be displayed during the exhibition (May 13-June 24).

Tuesday, May 9   4-7pm
Art Intake 1: Deliver your earliest festival paintings to Wayne Art Center and exhibition installation begins.  A light dinner for artists will be provided.

Wednesday, May 10   after 8pm
Nocturne painting: Artists are encouraged to paint at area locations during the evening.

Thursday, May 11   all day
Barns, Bridges & Backroads: Artists are encouraged to paint at theme-locations.

Thursday, May 11   4-6pm
Art Intake 2: Bring your festival paintings to Wayne Art Center.  A light dinner for artists will be provided.

Friday, May 12  dawn-11am
32 Plein Air Artists Paint Downtown Wayne: Artists create in Wayne in the morning.

Friday, May 12   11am-1pm

Final Art Intake 3: Deliver your final morning’s work to the art center where those pieces will be installed in advance of the gala event.   All work MUST be at WAC by 1pm to be included in the exhibition.  A light lunch will be available for artists at WAC.

Friday, May 12   6-10pm
Join Wayne Art Center for the Collectors’ Preview & Sale and Festival Awards Ceremony with Juror of Awards Shanna Kunz. Plein Air Artists are guests at this event. A single event ticket at a reduced rate of $100 (select the Young Friends Tickets) is available for one artist’s guest.  Additional tickets may be purchased as desired.

Friday, May 12   6–10 pm
Collectors’ Preview & Sale: This ticketed event offers the first look and an early opportunity to purchase paintings from festival week. Attendees may meet the artists and juror and attend the 2023 Plein Air award presentation. This celebratory gala will feature jazz music, fine wines and savory fare by Catering by Design.

Juror’s Demo and Talk with Shanna Kunz: Join WAC’s 2023 Plein Air Juror of Awards, Shanna Kunz to explore technique in oil paints at Wayne Art Center.

Mimosas and Masterpieces with Mom: Celebrate Mother’s Day with Mom at WAC!

Monday, May 15-Wednesday, May 17   10am-4pm
Composing with Simplicity with Shanna Kunz: Register online at wayneart.org to attend this three-day workshop with the 2023 Juror of Awards that focuses on the importance of design and color composition in plein air and studio painting.

Creating Dynamic Landscape from Photos with Qiang Huang: Register at wayneart.org to attend a three-day workshop with WAC Plein Air Festival painter Qiang Huang as he reviews how to select photo references that are suitable for painting in this oil painter’s workshop for WAC members and non-members.  This workshop is geared toward intermediate and advanced students.

Thursday, June 1   5-7pm
Summer Succulents: Gardens in Glass Workshop:  Register to attend this workshop and create and explore terrarium building with Leslie Drinkwater at WAC.

Thursday, June 15   6-8:30 pm
French Provincial Dinner: Register to participate in a culinary workshop with
Chef Patrick Gauthron who will demonstrate how to prepare a Seafood Bouillabaisse accompanied by Pear, Endive and Walnut Salad and Lemon Lava Cake.

Art Night Out: Join WAC for happy hour in the plein air galleries with light fare, beverages and music.
