Join us for a full day of plein air painting at one of the region's most spectacular gardens, at the peak of the spring blooming season. This local gem has vistas of many types, including a lotus pond, ruins, vistas and woodsy paths.
The day will include two painting sessions (morning and afternoon) with a picnic lunch at 12:30 pm. The day will begin with a brief tour and overview of how to select a subject. Elaine will do a demo during the lunch hour, painting while students eat. An optional group critique will also be held towards the end of the day.
Beginning and experienced plein air painters welcome. Students should have some experience painting with oils, but this is also a place to discover the excitement of painting in the open air.
This workshop will meet at Chanticleer 10:00 am at the check-in area. Please note: The rain date for this workshop will be Thursday May 31, 2018.
About Elaine: Elaine has more than 25 years experience painting en plein air and has led workshops locally as well as in Europe. Her award-winning paintings are collected internationally and she is represented locally by the Gross McCleaf Gallery.
